Mention Linksys and most network types will think of the familiar gray-and-purple case that has almost become synonymous with Linksys. The new Linksys WRT54GX Wireless-G Broadband Router with SRX (Speed and Range eXpansion), however, comes in a sleek, vertical, silver case.

Perched on top of the case are three antennas. The WRT-54GX shares the same underlying router code as its legacy namesake, the WRT54G, and has the same basic feature set. The wireless portion of the router, however, has been outfitted with Airgo’s MIMO technology. The router has three receivers and two transmitters. The client cards contain two of each.

Always On Wireless WiFlyer

Until now, if you were a dial-up Internet user and wanted to share your Internet connection, your choices were limited- especially if you were interested in having a wireless network. At the very least, you’d have to cobble together several pieces of hardware. Not anymore.

The WiFlyer, from Always On Wireless, is an 802.11b wireless router that lets you share either your broadband connection or your dial-up connection. It has both a built-in modem and a wide area network (WAN) port for connecting to the Internet. There’s also a local area network (LAN) port for connecting a system via Ethernet cable.

Intel recently unveiled its latest Centrino notebook technology, claiming faster graphics and better security options.
