class="KonaBody">
sMonitor is a network monitoring software that allows you to verify the network connectivity of TCP/IP hosts on the Internet and LAN. The program periodically pings, or checks TCP and UDP ports on user specified computers or other network devices. If the destination host fails to reply to a ping, connection request, or user datagram, sMonitor alerts you using audible alarms, visible notifications, e-mail messages, third-party software, modem and telnet connections. Also, the program generates log files, CSV format files, creates and uploads by FTP the HTML file, which reflects a current status. Based on test results, the program can operate remote systems (power management, reboot, alarm reporting) by modem and telnet using custom scripts. sMonitor can run as standard Windows application or NT service.

<img

Packed in its yellow-black box, the contents includes Norton Antivirus, Personal Firewall, Privacy Control, Anti-Spam and Parental Control packages.

With spyware as much of a threat as viruses these days, it is more than a relief to see that the anti-spyware component comes packaged with the Anti-Virus as standard.

The Norton Internet Security 2006 CD-based installation was quick and easy, but required un-installing any other anti-virus software prior its own installation.

One plus is that Norton scans faster than the Panda Platinum and it also found Trojans, which Panda Platinum did not.

Also, the new user interface is richer, with more options than before. Apart from the usual scanning and actions choices, now you have outbreak alerts, outbound training and quite a few more others.

Infact, the many options in each setting may be too much for novice user to handle. This software is worthy consideration for various security protection. A must have for your wireless notebook or computer.<br
