The whole hype right now about  the new routers is kind of sickening.  Have you tried the Bountiful Router? The product reaches 1200 feet and runs on the normal 802.11g and b.  It has great speeds because of its consistent strength.  Its only downside is its price for home users. I guess it is more of a commercial router, but it does what they say it can.
