The Prolink Hurricane 8600 is a controller-less modem with full-rate ADSL transmission speeds of up to 8Mbps downstream and 832Kpbs upstream. It is USB and ADSL 2/2+ compliant, and thus is USB-powered. It support three device drivers; Microsoft NDIS 4.0 LAN Miniport, NDIS 3.0 LAN Miniport or NDIS 5.0 ATM Miniport, is fully upgradeable and includes Microsoft Windows Control panel monitoring program for configuration of adapter and checking status of connection.


It also supports up to 16 simultaneous Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) virtual connections, as well as point-to-point protocol (PPP) over ATM and Ethernet over ATM. For connection from the telephone line to the telephone are two RJ-11 connection. Plug and play compatible too.
