Airgo Network’s MIMO Technology

ADVERTISEMENTS

Wireless 802.11 a/b/g networks always have problems living up to their rated performance levels. Various obstructions reduce effective speeds and operating distances, and it’s rare to see wireless networks maintain high throughput levels beyond 30 to 40 feet. Airgo Networks worked for nine years to develop a highly effective version of MIMO (multiple-input, multipleoutput) technology that uses multiple transmit and receive subsystems connected to multiple antennas. Airgo’s MIMO takes advantage of multipath propagation to reconstruct the original higher-rate data stream via complex signalprocessing techniques. First implemented in Belkin’s recent Pre-N Router, Airgo’s MIMO blows away the competition.
